About this role

What you would do

Work on active construction sites across Newark and Essex, Hudson and Union counties
Frame, insulate and sheetrock houses under a construction site supervisor
Paint, install siding and lay flooring
Landscape around homes under construction
Learn correct handling of the required tools from professional staff before starting
Wear heavy soled work boots and long pants on site; Habitat supplies tools, materials and safety gear

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newark builds and repairs homes for local families who need affordable housing. Volunteers work beside construction and site supervisors on real job sites in Newark and in Essex, Hudson and Union counties. The setting is an active construction site, so closed work boots and long pants are the norm. Most people come for a single day, and about 1,500 volunteers help each year.
