About this role
What you would do
Junior Rangers, ages 12 to 14: assist with field trips, weekend programs and birthday parties
Junior Rangers: lead storytimes and craft projects
Land Rangers, ages 15 to 17: trail clean up and minor trail maintenance
Land Rangers: control invasive plant species and learn plant identification
Education Rangers, ages 15 to 17: assist the Education Department with teaching programs
Education Rangers: learn to use animal artifacts in lessons
Tech Rangers, ages 15 to 17: organize the photo library and post about programs on social media
Tech Rangers: write at least one blog post per season, approved by staff before publishing
Flat Rock Brook Nature Association cares for a nature preserve and trail network in Englewood. Student rangers keep public programs running and help hold the land in good condition. Most public programming falls on Sunday afternoons. Rangers train in April, then serve a set number of hours each season through the year.
