About this role
What you would do
- Patient Care: transporting patients, escort service, and comforting and entertaining patients
- Information Desk: give visitors information and assistance as needed
- Surgical Waiting Room: offer families coffee, tea, reading materials and games
- Hospital Elder Life Program: keep older patients oriented and encourage eating, fluids and calm surroundings
- Clerical and computer help in Administration, Finance, the Library, Public Relations and the Laboratory
- Support Services in Building Management, Dietary, Warehouse and Transportation
- Community Outreach: assist at health fairs and screening programs
- Placements include the Gift Shop, Emergency Room, Pediatric Clinic, Physical Therapy and Nursing Units
Trinitas Regional Medical Center is a full service hospital in Elizabeth and part of RWJBarnabas Health. Teen volunteers are placed in a department based on hospital need and their own interest. Some roles put teens next to patients and families, and others are behind the scenes. Elder Life volunteers get specific training for each patient's plan of care.
