Youth Volunteer

Youth volunteers assist library staff in a range of ways, from straightening shelves, to packing materials to send to other libraries, to assisting with programs and providing computer assistance to patrons. Volunteers must hold a Glen Ridge Public Library card and be in grades 9 through 12. Applicants complete an online application form and meet with library staff before being accepted into the program. Every position includes a training period, so the library asks volunteers to commit to at least a few months. The library states plainly that it is a poor fit for students who need a large number of hours in a short timeframe.
