About this role
The youth membership program gives Verona residents aged 16 to 18 hands-on experience in emergency medical services. Through monthly drills and real EMS calls, youth members learn critical life-saving techniques and develop communication, teamwork, adaptability and critical thinking. Members are trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid, with all training and uniforms provided free of charge. Members ride a duty crew for a set amount of time each week and train with their crews to learn how the equipment and the squad operate. No prior experience is necessary, and the program currently runs about 35 active students.
