About this role
What you would do
Youth Service Events: create kits for Jersey Cares nonprofit partners, such as First Responder and Teacher Appreciation Kits
First Night Kits: assemble hygiene kits with shampoo, soap, toothpaste and deodorant
No-sew fleece blankets: assemble blankets for homeless shelters and transitional housing
Card making: write and decorate cards for seniors, first responders and healthcare workers
Collection drives: register as a site coordinator and collect items from school, friends and family
Youth Social Media Ambassador: post content and recruit volunteers through your own network
Opportunity calendar: pick daily projects by date, location or type, many open to ages 12 and up
Jersey Cares connects volunteers with nonprofit partners across New Jersey that serve people in need. Youth events run about every three months at the Livingston office, and families are welcome to work together. DIY projects can be finished at home and still count toward service hours. Each DIY project caps the hours it earns, three hours for card making and six for kit and blanket assembly.
