About this role
What you would do
Children's and Family Programs: assist with arts and crafts activities at children's and family events
Creative Aging: assist instructors in art appreciation and art-making classes for older adults, including Art in the Afternoon
Yard School of Art: assist art teachers during children's classes and at birthday art parties
Membership Tables: promote the benefits of MAM membership at Museum and community events
Gardening and Grounds: assist in the care and maintenance of the plantings on Museum grounds
Clerical Help: computer data entry, envelope stuffing and filing for Museum departments
Special Events: register guests and distribute programs at Members' Openings and lectures
The Montclair Art Museum serves visitors of every age, from young children in art classes to older adults in the Creative Aging program. Junior volunteers work beside staff, teaching artists and grounds crews depending on where they are placed. Most shifts fall during museum classes, openings and community events.
