About this role
What you would do
- Cook: help kitchen staff prepare hundreds of meals each day
- Serve: hand out breakfast from 8:00am to 9:00am and lunch from 11:30am to 12:30pm
- Clean: help clean up the kitchen and dining areas around meal service
St. John's Soup Kitchen has fed hungry people in downtown Newark for more than 40 years. It serves guests who are homeless or short on food, and it also runs a Women and Children's Center, a health clinic and a men's dining hall. The kitchen is busy from early morning to early afternoon, Tuesday through Saturday. Extra hands keep the meal line moving.
