About this role

What you would do

Give suggestions and feedback about library activities, books and services
Meet once a month during the school year with Teen Corner staff
Community Garden: grow vegetables, herbs and fruit at the library garden
Learn soil health, watering and garden ecology from 4-H and NJ Master Gardener instructors
Help maintain the garden and harvest produce to take home

East Orange Public Library builds its teen corner around what local students actually ask for. The Teen Advisory Group gives members a real voice in the books, programs and services the library offers. The library also keeps a community garden run with Rutgers Cooperative Extension and Essex County 4-H. Instructors visit the garden weekly through the growing season.
