About this role

What you would do

Children's Room and Teen Zone Helper: sort returned books and interfile them on the shelves
Shelf-reading to make sure all books sit in their proper place
Program Helper: prep materials for children's programs and assist at the monthly STEM programs
Book Reviewer: read new young adult titles and write reviews posted on the library website
Reading Buddies: read stories aloud with children who are learning to read, summers only

The Youth Services department at West Orange Public Library runs the teen volunteer program. Work splits between shelf work in the Children's Room and Teen Zone and hands on help at children's programs. Teens at programs work next to librarians and young kids. Reading Buddies runs during the summer only.
