September 18 Youth Service Event: Bringing Laughter to Children with Cancer
Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, recognized every September, aims to spotlight the need for better treatment and support for children battling cancer. It raises awareness, honors those affected, and encourages communities to come together in support of these young patients.
In honor of this important month, Jersey Cares is hosting a youth volunteer event on September 18, 2024, in Livingston, NJ. Volunteers aged 4-18 will come together to create Giggle Bags, which are designed to bring moments of joy and laughter to children facing cancer.
The event not only provides high school students with an opportunity to engage in meaningful service but also fosters empathy and community involvement. Each Giggle Bag assembled reflects the volunteers’ dedication to supporting children in need of emotional uplift during a challenging time. By participating, volunteers will be part of a larger movement to bring hope and comfort to those affected by childhood cancer.
If you would like to contribute, or need more information about how to get involved, visit the Jersey Cares website to sign up for this event. Spaces are limited, so early registration is recommended.
